NEXT - NATIONAL EXIT TEST FOR MBBS STUDENTS FROM 2023
The National Medical Council(NMC) declared to conduct the National Exit Test (NEXT) For MBBS students who are going to pass from 2023. The broad modalities of exam are almost finalized.This Decision was taken by meeting held by the Union Ministry Of Health And Family welfare held on june 10 to check the work done by the National Medical Council.
NEXT exam is a Medical licensing exam for Indian citizens who are studying MBBS inside/outside in India. NEXT will be licensing exam for MBBS students to get their License to Practice in India. It will be Implemented from 2023.
A clear picture of Exam is expected to be released in next six months. This exam also apply for PG seats. NEXT exam is replaced for FMGE and NEET (PG)Exam.
FMGE is a exam conducted through online for students who studied MBBS from Outside the India. Students who studied from abroad countries must pass this exam to get permanent registration number from medical council of India.
NEET(PG) is a exam conducted for students who wish to apply for postgraduate courses(MD/MS) in India. This Exam passing percentile will be also 50% students only.Every year 1.40 lakhs of students are appearing for this exam.
Now,Both of this exams are Replaced by NATIONAL EXIT TEST(NEXT). Students who are passing this exam are allowed to do internship and there mark will be taken for consideration of PG seats.NEXT exam will be expected to conduct by the month of march. Students who are studying in India don't have supplementary exams.
NEXT exam will be conducted in two phase.
Phase 1: Computer based Online Exam which contains MCQ type questions will be conducted for three days, Every day contains Pre lunch and Post lunch session.Every day 180 questions totally 540 questions.Students who passed this exam can do internship in India and they're mark will be considered for PG seats.Students who failed in this exam have to wait for one year to repeat this exam and those students can't start their internship.
Phase 2: It is Practical test (PASS/FAIL ONLY) will be conducted after the end of internship. Students will be asked few questions from practical cases from their one year internship.Students who passed can do their PG(MD/MS). Students who failed have to repeat this exam.
STUDENT PREPARATION GUIDELINES:
For phase 1 exam: Students are Recommended to prepare their Undergraduate course(MBBS) subjects strongly. All 19 subjects their are studying in MBBS course.
For phase 2 exam: Students are Recommended to get involved more in their practical part during their internship. It will be easier for them to pass Phase 2 exam.
